LUPIN THE 3rd PART 6 Reveals New Key Visual and All-Star Guest Writers in Anticipation of Series’ Upcoming October 9 Premiere

LOS ANGELES – September 2, 2021 – TMS Entertainment announces LUPIN THE 3rd PART 6 series’ Sherlock Holmes storyline with a new key visual and the release of its production staff list. The latest installment of LUPIN THE 3rd will premiere Saturday, October 9, on the Nippon Television Network at 24:55 in Japan.
The key visual, created by character designer Hirotaka Marufuji, depicts Lupin III standing out in the open accompanied by his gang. Marufuji’s image captures a dreary and threatening London setting which encapsulates the series’ initial theme of “mystery” and sets the tone for the adventures to follow.
In celebration of the 50th year anniversary, a group of highly regarded and influential writers — a majority of whom have had professional and personal history with the franchise — has been brought in to work alongside script supervisor Takahiro Okura. The featured guest writers are legendary director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence), veteran screenwriter Masaki Tsuji (Detective Conan, Astro Boy, The Star of the Giants, Doraemon) popular mystery novelist Taku Ashibe (Murder in the Red Chamber), adventure and science-fiction novelist Akio Higuchi (Zone), and mystery and suspense novelist Kanae Minato (Confession).
[Story]
Set in London, Lupin targets a treasure said to be hidden by the Raven, a mysterious organization that pulls the strings of the British Government from its shadows.
A single piece of art holds the key. But Scotland Yard and MI6 will do whatever it takes along with Inspector Zenigata and none other than Sherlock Holmes, the world’s greatest detective. Has the world’s greatest thief met his match?
[Original Anime Soundtrack]
The accompanying original anime soundtrack will feature the latest arrangement of veteran composer Yuji Ohno’s "Theme From Lupin III'" theme song. The soundtrack will be released on November 3. Details and specifics regarding the contents of the soundtrack will be announced at a later date.
